CWB Certification - Mandatory to Canada Market

CSA W47.1 Fusiong Welding of Steel Company Certification
The Canadian Standards Association sets the criteria for Standard W47.1. Based on the type of work to be undertaken a company may be certified for Fusion Welding of Steel in one of three Divisions. Companies who wish to be certified under this standard are required to qualify their Welding Supervisors and their Welding Engineers, submit for review and approval their Company’s Welding Procedures and qualify their Welding personnel (welders or operators).

CSA W55.3 Resistance Welding Company Certification
This standard sets the criteria for companies seeking certification for both steel and aluminum Resistance Welding. Companies who wish to be certified under this standard are required to qualify their Welding Supervisors and their Welding Engineers, develop and qualify their Company’s Welding Procedures for Approval and qualify their Welding personnel (welders or operators).

CSA W48 Electrode and Filler Metals Certification
CSA W48 provides requirements for the classification and certification of welding consumables by itself or in conjunction with gas mixtures or fluxes as applicable. The standard provides all requirements on chemical and mechanical properties of the electrodes and acceptable manufacturing tolerances. In addition, CSA Standard W48 requires the manufacturer to implement a quality management system that provides instruction on how to manufacture, inspect, pack, store, label and ship these welding consumables.
